It's true...

...Ashlee Hatch has started a blog! I'm really bad about keeping up with everyone, so I'm praying this will help me get my act together. Let me give you a recap of where we are in 2009:
Bart and I currently live in Scottsdale, AZ in the Palo Verde Ward (Scottsdale North Stake). We scored big time when Bart discovered a great deal our now current apartment was giving back in 2008. We just resigned our lease and we're receiving an upgraded kitchen for staying! We are so happy to be staying put...especially since we love our ward (and we would hate to have to move again!). Bart is currently the Priest advisor in Young Men while I serve as the Beehive advisor in the Young Women. We are having a blast hanging out with these young kids...which is making us feel like we're in high school again.
Which brings me to my next subject. My birthday is in two weeks and I'll be 23. Let me tell you, I may not look old (and granted 23 is not very old) but I feel old. My metabolism is slowing down, I'm driving the speed limit everytime I get into my car, I go to bed early since I can't make it past 10:30pm, AND I'm starting to scold the YW like I'm their mother...I don't know how this happened. But at least I'm younger than Bart. He'll be 24 in May. :)
Bart and I are both in school (I know...Ashlee's still in school?!) and are very, VERY busy. Thankfully this is my last semester and then I'll be done!! My last accounting class is taking up almost all of my time, but it will be worth it in the end. Poor Bart still has years left in school (he's a physical therapy major) but he'll get there eventually.
We are both fortunate enough to have jobs in this current economy. Bart is working as a part-time Bellman at the Millenium Resort to help pay for school. He loves interacting with the guests and loves it even more when they give him a $20 tip. He still says Canadian's are the best tippers, but I think he's being a little biased. I am even more fortunate enough to still have my job in the mortgage industry (it's a MIRACLE)!! I work with my wonderful brother-in-law, Dave Timmerman who works really hard and treats me so well...even though I am related. :) We are super busy right now and we pray we stay that way.
So that's our life in a nutshell. I hope to keep posting (and include pictures) whenever an event comes up...or when I feel like it. I hope all is well with you and your family.
All the best!

  2. Welcome to the blogging world. You will find this another wonderful time waster and very much worth it. Just try not to get sucked into blog hopping that is where the danger lies.
